BPM systems for security and defence organisations: key advantages of IQusion solutions

November 27, 2023 · 4 min

Business Process Automation (BPM) systems are of particular importance for organisations in the security and defence sector of Ukraine, as they offer a number of significant advantages that enhance the efficiency and reliability of their operations. Mykhailo Vigovskyi, a member of the Supervisory Board of Intecracy Group, gave a presentation on BPM systems adapted for work in such organisations on November 27 at the office of IQusion-IT LLC.

A business process is a set of interrelated tasks or activities performed within an organisation to create a specific product or service for customers. Each such process has a clear goal, for example, ensuring sales, product manufacturing, or service delivery, and consists of a series of steps or actions performed sequentially or in parallel.

Various resources are involved in it: human, financial, material, informational, etc. It is worth noting that they can be measured and evaluated using established (or stipulated) performance indicators. It is important to understand that business processes are constantly analysed and optimised to increase efficiency and adapt to changes in market conditions, and they are also standardised and documented to ensure consistency and quality of execution. Understanding and managing business processes is a key aspect of management, as they affect productivity, the quality of products or services, and the overall efficiency of the organisation.

What the Implementation of a BPM System Provides for Enterprises in the Defence and Security Sector

Increased Efficiency and Productivity:

Automation significantly reduces the time spent on routine tasks such as data collection, analysis, and reporting. This frees up personnel to perform more complex and strategic tasks, which is crucial for defence structures where every minute can have strategic importance.

Improved Data Management:

Security and defence require accurate and prompt access to data. Automation systems allow for centralised storage of large volumes of information, ensuring quick access to necessary data when required.

Ensuring a High Level of Security:

In the field of security and defence, information protection is critical. Automation systems include advanced protective mechanisms that help prevent information leaks and cyberattacks.

Increased Accuracy and Reliability:

Automation reduces the human factor in data entry and processing, lowering the probability of errors. For defence organisations, where errors can have serious consequences, this is particularly important.

Flexibility and Adaptability:

Modern automation systems can be quickly adapted to changing needs and requirements. In the defence sector, where conditions can change rapidly, such flexibility is indispensable.

Improved Communication and Coordination:

Automation helps improve internal and external communication, contributing to better coordination of actions between various departments and organisations.

Cost Reduction:

Automation helps reduce costs by optimising resources, decreasing the need for manual labour, and lowering the probability of expensive errors.

Considering these advantages, business process automation systems are an important tool for increasing the efficiency, security, and readiness of organisations in the security and defence sector of Ukraine.

What Does IQusion-IT LLC Offer?

We create information systems for the security and defence sector of Ukraine using the UnityBaseDefense platform, designed to solve tasks in the defence and security sphere

UnityBaseDefense is a high-performance, Ukrainian RAD platform. It ensures high fault tolerance and security, and a high level of integration with other applications. It is very important that solutions developed on the UnityBaseDefense platform use reliable solutions that will allow for effective information protection. The security functionality is designed in line with the Ukrainian ND TZI 2.5-004-99 technical information-protection criteria and has an expert conclusion at assurance level G-3.

As a systems integrator, we offer both custom software development and the adaptation of Intecracy Group's development called Scriptum for the security and defence sector.

The Scriptum system incorporates tools such as BPMN (Business Process Model and Notation) – a system of conventional symbols used for modelling business processes. The main advantage of this standard is that any business process diagram (designed with its help) will be simultaneously understandable to both an ordinary software user and professional business analysts. In addition, the use of BPM based on BPMN applications allows organisations to focus on important tasks and improve the efficiency of interaction with their clients, partners, etc.
