Honouring the memory of the victims of the 1944–1951 forced deportations
On 13 September, Ukraine marks the Day of Remembrance of Ukrainians — victims of the forced deportation from Lemkivshchyna, Nadsiannia, Kholmshchyna, Southern Podlachia, Liubachivshchyna, and Western Boykivshchyna in 1944—1951. On this day, we bow our heads in deep respect and sorrow. IQusion honours the memory of hundreds of thousands of Ukrainians who fell victim to forced deportation from Lemkivshchyna, Nadsiannia, Kholmshchyna, Southern Podlachia, Liubachivshchyna, and Western Boykivshchyna between 1944 and 1951. This tragic page of our history has forever left a deep scar in the heart of each of us.
We remember the shattered lives, lost homes, and ordeals that befell our compatriots. Preserving this memory is a vital duty for current and future generations. We remember and we honour.
